21st Century Forest Health Challenges. Lecture . Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 7:00 pm. at Keeney Memorial Cultural Center

Join GMCT and The Friends of Kycia Farm at 7:00 pm by a lecture addressing forest health issues by DEEP Forester David Irvin at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center.

FOREST HEALTH CHALLENGES LECTURE. As a DEEP Central District Service Forester, David Irvin visits private, land trust, and municipally owned forested areas to study the health of the forest and report to the owners. Last May 2024, David visited GMCT’s Wolf Parcel floodplain forest and in October, he inspected the Kycia Farm upland forested areas. David will address the forest health issues he observed in these areas and suggest measures to improve the diversity, resilience, and environmental value of our forests.

David has produced reports of his forest inspections of the Wolf Parcel floodplain forest and the Kycia Farm upland forest. These will be available for review during the lecture.
